Here is the crock pot, full of the pulp, ready to cook down. Little did I know just how long that was going to take!
Out of everything in the pot when we started cooking the pears, this is all that was left when we got it all sieved. Pretty good idea of why they went to the work of doing all this if you really got that much out of the fruit!
Here it is starting to cookdown. We started this on Wens. and let it cook all night. It didn't get very far so we ended up putting it in the fridge while we went north for Poppa D's birthday. Came home and let it cook all night on high.
Tasty! Yeah... we should have let our apple butter cook for longer. Truth is it's somewhere between applesauce and apple butter. But still tasty!
